synth pop / minimal wave project with Dirk ivens and Eric Van Wonterghem
Dirk Ivens formed in 1980 Absolute Body Control as a project more influenced by the prototype synth pop sound
being produced by the likes of Suicide and D.A.F.
The project originally feature Marc De Jonghe (synths) and Veerle De Schepper (backing vocals),
Though Mark was replaced in 1981 by Eric Van Wonterghem
The project released a number of cassettes, and only one 7" (Is There An Exit?) and put the project on hold.
A compilation of Absolute Body Control tracks entitled 'Eat This' was eventually released in 1993.
A more comprehensive 2CD compilation ' Lost/Found' was issued in 2005.
Vinyl On Demand released A 5-LP box set of all their cassette releases in a limited wooden box and hardsleeve version.
Dirk and Eric took the project back on stage and re-formed Absolute Body Control and released Wind[Re]Wind, which contains newly recorded versions of their best tracks so far next to the EP Never seen & Sorrow.
A new full album followed named Shattered Illusion, This includes the famous songs "into The Light",
"never Seen" And "Surrender no Resistance"
In 2011 came the EP album Mindless Intrusion & Surrender No Resistance with remix by the French Millimetric
2013 saw the project remix tracks by post-punk/electro-wave band Section25 namely "Microgroove"
on the "Invicta Max" 10" and "Beating Heart",
several Absolute Body Control remixes followed for The Arch "Body ´n Angels" , Haujobb single "Dead Market"
Absolute Body Control was performing in the last years on many festivals and clubs , since mid 2016 ,the project is on hold.
